Mercedes Benz should really do a RECALL on this Steering Wheel Locked disaster as many cars from are having this problems. MBz knows about this costly failure and I can't believe they are not fixing this for their customers. The Steering Wheel ESL module's motor dies and makes the car undrivable. How is this not being addressed by MBz Customer Service as a Recall??? Make is not want to buy a MBz ever again!!!

My 2009 Mercedes c300 wont start , it was dead as a door knob. It gave no warnings signs. No check engine lights or anything. The radio would come on and the odometer would light up on the dash, but everything else was dead. Very disappointed in the lack of quality in a Mercedes, I will NEVER own another one!

09 Mercedes and just 10 min fter parking the vehicle, I was unable to start it back up. No crank and wouldn't jump. Had it towed to the dealer and diagnosed with ESL failure, at a cost of $1100 to replace via an authorized independent Mercedes mechanic. Extended warranty says part of security so not covered!!! I see hundreds of online complaints and no recall on it by Mercedes??!! Luckily I was in a school parking lot when it happened. This could have been a hazard if it happened somewhere else!! Not happy at all right now. Feel like I should have stuck with American :(
