A tire leak was diagnosed as a cracked rim (several small cracks). The dealer fit was a new wheel at a cost of $960. Even though I paid $3400 for a 6 year, 75,000 mile extended warranty, the dealer refused to cover it. It is clearly a materials and design defect. The rims are made of magnesium and have hard run-flat tires, a clear recipe for work hardening the rims and cause of the cracks.
