Sucks, but the trans isn't as smooth as it should be. GM trans is like butter. This trans is like coffee, it is a bit too hyper for my needs.

Mariner 3.0L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,000 miles

The transmission would not shift properly on 1 - 2 upshift. Ford called and again, said toooo bad as car was out of warranty. Car was suffering electrical problems and wonder if it was all tied in together. No matter, this car is a total piece of junk, as only had 60,000 easy miles on it.

When I first bought my car I noticed that the tranny seemed a bit strange. I've had my car for for four years now and the tranny lurches and is getting worse. Im hoping that they will have a recall on it soon so I can get it fixed for free. A tranny is way to expensive for me to fix .

The same thing Ford Escape owners are experiencing. The vehicle will be in drive, then the engine will rev, and the transmission feel like it is re-engaging. Much like someone else said was like a manual transmission car pushing the clutch in, then popping the clutch. happens in reverse and drive.
