Scheduled several appointments with Tommy Vaughan Ford Columbus, tx. Service manager claims they could not duplicate problem. Just before warranty expired, one of the service writers claim he found a bulletin That might apply to vehicle for transmission software update. Still did not correct Problem. Service manager claimed could not do any more because it was out of Warranty even though they had been trying to find the problem from first year of taking Delivery of new vehicle. General manager end up taking vehicle to another dealership Claimed techs were more experienced with programming software. Still did not fix The transmission problem. Just gave up on ford. Never buy another ford product.

Mariner LX 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission

Was towing the Mariner. Stopped by passing motorist on Interstate 10 near Beaumont, TX with smoke coming from engine compartment. Transmisson oil on rear of car, car won't start, removed at nearby exit and left in business parking lot, called Ford hotline and reported. During repair no offer of car to use, no explaination of repairs , instructed to continue current towing instructions.

Now have no confidence in product, nor any info that this transmisson is any different or any better than the first two that failed.

Ford has made no effort to explain or apologise for these failures leaving the owner with a lemon worth a fraction of its original value.
