This was the 2nd 2003 Mercury Mountaineer I had. The first one , the rear drivers side window never stayed working even after a new motor was put in. It would corrode under the hood and then stop working . The back panel right below the rear window cracked while sitting in my driveway..it was unbelievable!!! My husband thought I was nuts until I showed him!!! The rims constantly filledl up with mud, ice an snow and dirt, and gravel from our gravel roads making the vehicle seem like it was out of alignment. I would constantly have to wash out the rims. BAD DESIGN!!! The second Mercury Mountaineer 2003 had the same issue with the back panel cracked after shutting the window. At least this time we got to witness it......It too had the same problem of the headlights dimming an brightening during driving. And also the rims filling up with dirt, gravel, and snow an ice in the winter making it seem out of alignment. I do not however own either of these vehicles anymore., They were both totaled out by deer here in Iowa, the first one in 2011, and the second one in 2112... Maybe it was a good thing that they were put out of there misery an mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
