Apparently there is a problem with 2007 through 2009 MINI Cooper Clubman in their body production that is an original design problem that is causing water to leak into the car under the driver's seat; this will get the wiring harness to corrode and fry all the electrical systems. The car is dead in the water without the harness which runs from the front to the rear of the vehicle. This harness controls all the electricals in the car including doors, windows, dash, etc.... In essence, the car is an empty shell without this work.

Apparently, the entire engine needs to be dropped, the place of water entry must be determined and sealed, a new foot module has to be plugged in, then a new harness has to be installed all for the small fee of approximately $5000. This is just an estimate because the car has to be re-programmed which I was told may take up to three hours. This is an additional fee of approximately $1100. What the heck???? MINI is aware that this has been a re-occurring problem but will not address it because design issues are not considered a SAFETY HAZARD. I am sick to my stomach.
