Rust/corrosion on rear crossmember (sub frame) caused failure of upper A-arm mounting tabs. Caused wheel (right/rear) to collapse into vehicle.

2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor - manufacturer used plastic covers on the underside of the car to protect engine. I believe it is a poor design, that has broken on my car, and with any type of road debris will continue to break. While this may not be a safety item, a safer method with be some type of light metal panel.
