The contact owns a 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor. While driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle independently accelerated to 85 mph without warning. The brake pedal was depressed, but failed to respond. The contact shifted the vehicle into the neutral position and it stopped abruptly. As a result of the stop, the vehicle went into an embankment, flipped down a hill, and landed in another embankment. As the vehicle flipped, the dash panel detached and struck the contact. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was not filed and there were no injuries reported. The vehicle was driven to the contact's residence. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage and VIN were unavailable.

The contact owns a 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor. The contact stated that while merging off the roadway, another car crashed into the rear end of the vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact sustained broken ribs, lacerations to the left hand and ear, a back injury and a head injury that required medical attention. In addition, the front seat passenger sustained a head injury that required surgery and back injuries that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 105,000.

1. had an accident in which the front of my vehicle impacted at 30-40 mph with the passenger side of a pickup causing my vehicle to roll. However, neither the driver's side or passenger side airbags inflated in my vehicle. If I hadn't been wearing my seatbelt I would have been killed.
