At 63000 miles my driver floor started getting wet. The local Mitsubishi dealer quoted me $1400 to fix the evaporator which is nested in the dash. This is clearly a problem affecting numerous models and years, yet Mitsubishi refuses to recall the problem. I am told its a $5 part but labor intensive. This appears to be a design issue that should have been corrected or fixed for free. I am very disappointed in Mitsubishi for requiring the vehicle owner to bear the financial burden to fix such a small item.

The A/C condensation does not drain out and collects in a compartment behind the dash and the water leaks into the driver side floorboard. Information on the internet indicated the problem was the drain going through the firewall. I cut a hole in the dash/console, drained out the water, and ran a small rubber hose through the existing drain and out through the firewall. This was a royal pain to accomplish but it is working. No more water leakage or sloshing around in the dash.
