when under warranty, we kept taking it back to CARMAX where we'd bought it used (Knoxville, TN). They said they couldn't find the problem but it's never gone away. There've been times when I thought the lights would go out permanently while driving at night. On long distance drives (500+ miles), losing headlights in the dark isn't good! I often wonder if people coming at us think we're flashing our lights at them. Thought it might be related to the heating system, as I noticed it more in the cold months than in the warmer ones (doesn't get dark so fast in summer but is darker longer in the winter). Still don't know for sure if it is related or not.

It's not just the headlights, it's the whole system of lights: on the dash, the console lights, radio - any light that's on at the time.
