(1) opening and closing the door; (2) door will not open or shut due to the frame/metal to which the driver's door hinge mounts to flexing causeing the door to be misaligned with the latch. After trying to shut the door the driver's window fell down and will not roll up or down with the controls... (3) at the moment the window is held up with a pair of vice grips until I can afford to replace the whole door...

While car was still under warranty, drivers front and passengers back electric windows failed and were replaced. Car is owned by single adult, no children, windows are not abused....within past 6 months drivers front, drivers back, and passengers front electric windows have all failed. Plastic clip that holds the cable has broken on all three windows...cable winds inside of motor making it necessary to replace regulator and motor.

The rear/front passenger/driver side power windows failed to work properly. Consumer was unable to open/close the windows. The driver side back regulator broke in Oct. 2004. Then driver front regulator went out about 6 weeks later. Took to dealer and was told that the passenger front is also ready to go out. It has not gone out as of Jan., 2005 but is very slow. Consumer paid cash for car and feel the regulators going out are some kind of defect.

Within 30 days, three of the four power windows have failed. Estimates on each window is between $370 and $400 dollars. I can see one window failing, but three within 30 days is a statistical impossibility. Am awaiting word from GM, Oldsmobile and the district service manager to see what, if anything, they are going to do.

1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue gls. When the consumer exited the freeway, he heard a mechanical noise which resulted in power steering lost for left turning only. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the rack and pinion was replaced. The vehicle experienced other problems such as engine stalling shortly after starting, the weather strip was deformed, a pulsating noise coming from the front end, however a road test only found tire noise, the right rear window was inoperative, the coolant light illuminated, the fuel pressure regulator was replaced, the ignition switch was replaced, the fuel filter, battery and remote were replaced. The vehicle also experienced an oil leak.

Within 32 days, three of the four power windows have failed. Car has 92400 miles on it. Olds cannot replace just the broken cable, but must install new motor assembly. Estimated cost of repair $1300 plus tax. Olds customer assistance only offered 10% off bill, or $1000 off new vehicle. Never heard of three windows going out in one months time, but am used to GM turning its back on customers.

The window had fallen into the door on the drivers side front, back and passenger door with no warning. On one occasion, while the consumer was driving on the highway with her granddaughter in the passenger seat, the window had fallen into the door. The dealer stated that this was a common problem. When the power window no longer worked, it would fall into the door.

We have had six windows fail on our 1999 olds Intrigue. GM replaced three under warranty, but refuses to repair or pay for repairs to the windows that have failed since the car accumulated over the 36,000 mile warranty. We paid for one repair ourselves but refuse to pay for the two remaining non-functioning windows. We purchased the car new in Dec of 1999. The only response that we've gotten from GM is that we should take it to a GM dealership and have it "diagnosed" at our expense. It should be noted that two of the currently failed windows are ones that they've already replaced under warranty. The incident date given is for the first failure, they've been failing regularly ever since. We believe this to be not only a functional problem but a safety concern as when the windows fail they stay in either the up or down position, we've now experienced multiples of each. In the down the position the car is not secure and in the up position a possible avenue of escape from the vehicle in the event of an accident is eliminated.
