Engine check light on indicator comes on when consumer is driving and stays on for a day or two. In summer of 2000 vehicle just cut off, consumer was on highway and was almost killed.

While parked in driveway, with no one in it, car started and traveled about 50 feet prior to hitting barn. Then, would not start. Dealer reports it needs a new starter, but has no explanation for the problem. Car is manual transmission. Key was not in car. Car had been stopped for about 15-20 min and was unattended.

All who bought this vehicle seem to have the same problems and symptoms that lead up to the problems. What will it take for Chrysler to take action and keep the good name that they used to have? we all paid a lot of money for these cars and now we all might as well junk them and buy new cars. In the long run it will save us all a lot of money!

While driving the vehicle noticed smoke coming from under dashboard. Few of the components would not work after that, but the vehicle was still driveable. The dealer said that the vehicle had a short circuit in the wiring and that resulted in replacement of the ignition.
