cracked radiator neck

It has been one thing after another with this car.

In this instance, I was driving home from work with my wife when I noticed a sweet smell in the air waiting at a stoplight. Smelled like coolant. So, I pulled off into a parking lot and as I'm driving towards a spot my engine light comes on telling me the engine is hot. I park, turn the car off, and hear the fans are still spinning (there's two in the G8). I pop the hood and see what you see in the picture there, the neck had completely snapped off of the radiator. Had to replace the whole radiator.

I've researched the hell out of this, and it turns out THIS IS QUITE COMMON with these vehicles. The dealerships and shops I talked to basically told me some variation of, "yeah, they use these sh*tty plastic components for the whole tank, and this usually happens right around 100k, sometimes closer to 80k". You look on forums, like G8 Forums, and you'll see this is common. This was a $750 repair, A WEEK AFTER I spent $600 on my 100k mile service. Pissed beyond pissed.
