The contact owns a 2004 Pontiac GTO. The contact stated that he entered the vehicle and smelled gasoline fuel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection where they stated that the evaporated canister needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer for inspection where they stated that the fuel tank needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired a second time. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 132,000. The VIN was unavailable.
