Noticed tires rubbing against struts on 2005 Pontiac GTO. Contacted dealership was told GM would cover an alignment, but possibly would not cover new tires. GM informed to have alignment done to full positive camber, after complaints was reimbursed for tires, was told this would not be covered again as it was a maintenance issue. Had to have vehicle aligned again after 4 months due to rubbing again.

I have a 05 GTO with strut rub. If you go to www.ls1gto.com you will see many people have the same problem. I just want to make you aware of the problem because it wears the inside of the front tires and can lead to blow outs.

2005 Pontiac GTO. Massive tire to strut rub. Causing the tire to rip apart. The car is under warranty and the dealer would not fix this problem. I purchased an aftermarket strut mount and bearing and spent my own money to get the car aligned. Total out of pocket for fix $650.

- the contact owns a 2005 Pontiac GTO. The front tires rub on the struts each time the vehicle came in contact with a bump in the road. The dealer and the manufacturer told the contact that it was not their problem. The contact purchased the second set of tires due to the failure. The current and failure mileage was 28,000.

The front tires of my 2005 Pontiac GTO was rubbing against the struts. Both front tires were showing the metal tread. I took it to the dealership (beck and masten Pontiac, houston, Texas) and they said that the tires needed an alignment. I had 19000 miles on my car and my front tires were virtually about to blow because it needed an alignment. I had to pay for both front tires and an alignment. Please do a recall for this known issue.
