The contact owns a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am. The contact stated that the steering felt abnormal while the vehicle was being operated at 50 mph. The failure occurred without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the engine cradle was being held on by a single bolt and would need to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000...updated 06/21/17

Everyone knows that the dashboard of all 2001 Pontiac Grand Am are worthless. Before I mention that the window regulators go out frequently, and the blinker modules are pure junk causing the blinker to blink at high rate of speed when turning. They all go bad and make the cars look and sound like hell. This has been going on for many years like all the others writing in with the same demands. There must be a recall and if there isn't one, then GM is the sorriest bunch of unconcerned auto manufacturers in the business. It makes them look like thieves and I believe strongly about this and am following through with everything in my power to see that all of us are compensated. I will not cease to stop this pursuit. And this is not personal information. I will do whatever it takes to damage GM publicly, should this not be addressed. Anyone can call me at [xxx], my name is [xxx]. I live in [xxx]and I'm sick and tired of being walked all over. Just read the responses on-line concerning this issue. It should appalled the entire working staff at GM. Everytime there is a heavy rain the floors of my 2001 Pontiac Grand Am gets soaked. Yesterday was by far the worst of all, there was about 3 inches of standing water on the passenger side floor. My car smells of mildew and the carpet is ruined. This seems to be a common problem for this car and I would like to see something done about this. I feel like I have wasted my money and I still have 2 years of payments remaining.

Due to water leaking into the car the BCM computer had to be replaced. The mechanic that fixed the car said the fuel pump had to be replaced also.

After long or heavy periods of rain, standing water on floor behind drivers seat. Problem is on passenger side as well. Have taken back to dealer several times. Door rubber/seal has been replaced and door alignment has been done. Problem persists. Dealer claims it is not a known defect. Dealer will not assume responsibility beyond standard warranty on repairs completed. Also states that mildew and/or rust will not be a problem since the car was treated at the manufacturer against rust and mildew. The service manager of the dealer has requested that I leave my car with them a few days to allow more time for them to review the situation. Plan to contact manufacturer.

The car was purchased new (10 miles on it) in Sept. Of 2001. We have had repeated problems with the car pulling to the right (usually every 30-45 days. The car was taken to the dealership several times, said no problem was found. We realized something was wrong with the vehicle, took the car to other professionals, and notified the manufacturer. Manufacturer requested inspection by the original dealership (?0 nothing found wrong. We requested another inspection which was done by another dealership. Found the sub-frame was defective from the factory. Said this would cause the steering to be off. My concerns is that a defected sub-frame may be the cause of the many complaints by the consumers for this car. A decision has not been made by the manufacturer as to how to handle this as of 7/18/02. ***dimsii IVOQ entry posted after 12/12/02 cut-over to artemis*****764384

2001 Pontiac Grand Am has problems cranking. Ignition turns over but engine will not crank until 3-4 tries. Does not do it on a consistent basis and dealership has not been able to duplicate problem. It has been in 4 times for this problem and 4 times because the back doors will not open some times without bumping the doors with your hip. Dealership was not able to duplicate problem. Also, rearview mirror fell off, side mirrors had to be replaced because clear coat was left off, door reflector fell off, weather strip on window fell off, blinkers stopped working. Despite the fact that this car is well taken care of, it is coming apart at the seams. Pontiac rep has been contacted answer is the same, we have to duplicate problem. It has now began stalling out after you get it cranked. I am now contacting GM/BBB as a last resort. Please help me if you can.
