My 2001 Pontiac Grand Am GT was wrecked. It hit a tree dead center going about 40 mph buckled the hood and smashed the radiator back into the motor yet the air bags never went off?

The vehicle was taken to the dealer for repairs because the air bag light illuminated. While driving on 5/22/2003 the air bag in the steering wheel fell out on to the drivers lap. The vehicle has been taken to the dealer for repairs.

While in motion downhill, consumer started hearing a grinding noise and a metal to metal sound emitting from the fire wall in front of the brake and gas pedals. Once on level ground, the vehicle seemed alright. Consumer called the Pontiac dealer to inquire about the steering problem and was informed it sounded like a rack and pinion assembly problem. Consumer was asked to bring the vehicle in for inspection. The day before vehicle was to go for inspection, the vehicle pulled to the right causing consumer to loose control, and crash into a barrier wall, there was 1 injury and the air bags did not deploy.

While traveling approximately 65 mph another vehicle crashed into consumer's vehicle's front/right fender, and both frontal air bags failed to deploy. One passenger suffered a broken clavicle, and another passenger sustained an elbow injury. Vehicle had not been examined to determine if air bags should have deployed. Please provide any additional information / attachments.
