I just purchased my 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix this past January and as I happened to be driving it home from a navy event in front of my husband (thank goodness). He pulled up along side of me on his motorcycle and let me know that I had no brake lights. Cruise control also stopped working before this, but I am assuming this all happened at the same time. He is an electronics technician and has spent hours trying to figure out what the heck is wrong. Tomorrow I am going to go ahead and call the dealership and have them look at it. I also have surging with light acceleration or at highway speeds with no diagnostics trouble codes. Both of these started at the same time, but he knows they are unrelated.

The contact stated while pressing the brake on ice the vehicle revved and then slid through intersections. This occurs only on icy roads and caused the brakes to pump when the anti lock brakes activated. The dealership and the manufacturer have not been contacted.

Vehicle would stall upon acceleration. Vehicle has been taken to dealer on several occasions, but dealer has not provided remedy. Dealer has rerouted wiring harness and some other wiring on two occasions with no success, crankshaft sensor has been replaced and consumer has driven with a data recorder and vehicle failed again, recorder indicated ignition voltage was lost, ignition switch was replaced and less than one week later, vehicle stalled again, dealer this time replaced the relay and consumer has only driven once since repair.
