The multi function switch has malfunctioned this is a common occurrence on these cars. The malfunction of this switch has meant that the brake lights do not work causing someone to run into the back of my car as I was slowing in traffic. The shift lever lock will not engage leaving the keys unable to be removed and the shifter can be moved out of park without the brake pedal being pressed. The ignition switch and harness malfunction causing the fan to not work in anything but 5. look at the message boards all three a common occurrence and worse GM knows of these problems and have refused to address them.

The contact owns a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix. While parking the vehicle it accelerated on its own. The contact applied extreme force to the brakes when they did not stop the vehicle from accelerating. The vehicle crashed into a post and damaged the front end on the passenger side. The vehicle was towed to an auto repair shop. A police report was filed. There have been no diagnostic test or repairs. The failure and the current mileages were 60000.

: the contact stated the speedometer failed and while making right turns there was a clicking noise that seemed to be coming from the front passenger wheel. This occurred while driving at various speeds. The speedometer was always stuck on zero and the mileage of the vehicle became unreadable. The speedometer has been replaced three times by a local dealership, however the problem still occurs. The dealership was unable to duplicate the problem with the speedometer and determined the front passenger wheel bearing needed to be replaced. The manufacturer has not been alerted.
