It's a severe safety hazard. There's no brakes or steering at high speeds, going down hills, and on curves or turning; it's very dangerous. Problem occurs without warning. Sometimes its days or months after, or at multiple times in a day.

I love this car, but hate some of the problems I have had. The worst, I think, is that the engine would shut off without warning, but the car would restart immediately after stopping and shifting the gear into "park." The problem started more than four years ago and has defied an easy fix (until the recent replacement of the main computer). One month ago, the problem became worse and within the month the frequency was so bad that the vehicle limped into the repair shop with six episodes of stalling during the 1/2 hour drive. The worst of this scenario is that I believe the main computer may be responsible for many other issues with the car (low beam headlights intermittently stopping but then starting again after pressing the car horn or after a bump or days later) (radios and wiper motors that needed to be replaced). These other repairs have been troublesome, dangerous and costly. In my situation, the local GM dealer played a fast one (denying warranty when it was still covered) four years ago that added to the problem of finding resolutions. With the issue of the car disabling the engine, one of the recent episodes left me in a very dangerous situation on a freeway. I am glad we seemed to have made progress with the fix, although to be totally honest, I wonder if a replacement part is going to be any better than the original. One faulty main computer aka PCM aka ECM replaced with the same faulty product .... mmmmhhh.
