A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

HAVE A 2008 GP/GXP. I BOUGHT THIS CAR LITERALLY 6 MONTHS AGO AND I HAVE HAD NOTHING PUT PROBLEMS. A SEVERE MONEY PIT. AFTER DRIVING IT FOR 1 MONTH I HAD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. NOW 6 MONTHS LATER AND MY RADIO WILL SPIKE IN VOLUME SUDDENLY WHILE AT A COMPLETE OR SLOWING STOP. ALSO AT THE STOP IT WILL DIE. START BACK UP TO DRIVE ALONG AND AGAIN WHEN AT A STOP IT WILL DIE. ALSO THE SPEEDOMETER NEEDLE WILL FLUCTUATE. MY TCM ICON IS LIT CONSTANTLY. NOW SAYING INTERMITTENTLY TO CHECK MY TRIP CONTROL COMPUTER.

I HAVE NO IDEA OR DOES ANYONE I HAVE TAKEN TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS WITH THIS STUPID PIECE OF SH*T. IT THROUGH CODE TO REPLACE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR DID THAT , NO LUCK. I TOOK BACK TO WHERE TRANSMISSION WAS DONE HE PUT ALL NEW SOLENOIDS, VALVE, ETC.. THIS IS MY SECOND GP. MY OTHER ONE WOULD CONSTANTLY OVER-HEAT DESPITE WHAT I REPLACED ON IT.. PONTIAC HAS PRODUCED A CAR THAT HAS SO MANY EXPENSIVE ISSUES. THIS IS JUST RIDICULOUS. BUT WHAT I CAN NOT UNDERSTAND THERE ARE SO MANY COMPLAINTS ON THIS MAKE/MODEL CAR, THEY ARE ALL IN THE SAME CATEGORY IF NOT EXACT SAME PROBLEM BUT LOW AND BEHOLD THERE ARE NO RECALLS. NONE OTHER THAN THE KEY IGNITION.. PLEASE HELP

Grand Prix 3.2L V6

When driving the throttle sensor sticks and you loose acceleration power and also greatly increase your gas consumption. It is very dangerous because if you are in traffic and trying to pass or climb a hill the car will barely move making it a hazard to other drivers that may be near you. I contacted a mechanic who told me the part to fix the problem costs a little over 410 dollars, plus the labor.

When looking this problem up online there were several complaints. It seems the throttle sensor is now at the end of the gas pedal and it seems to be an easy fix, but a costly problem to repair if you need to bring the car to a mechanic. This problem has happened to me a total of 6 times and when you have the codes reset it did last for awhile, however the time in between settings has gotten much shorter, and since the last reset it was only 2 days before the engine light and loss of power lights came on.

I understand there is maintenance necessary on vehicles, and have completely many repairs already. But the throttle sensor part is not only costly but is a traffic hazard which could easily result in serious accidents, including serious injuries or fatalities to both drivers of Pontiac Grand Prixs other individuals who are traveling nearby. This should be a SAFETY RECALL ISSUE !!!!!
