There is a recall on my car and there is no fix yet and the this car is a two seat person car and I when my partner sits in the car the airbag does cut on and the warning light alerts me that service airbag. I called GM they informed me that not have some one seat up front, informed them what other seat are they going to sit in then. They informed they could disconnect the alarm:( well that is going to help my passenger which I feel that the car being small if I was to crash they need the protection from the dash and the top of windshield. The consumer was awaiting a fix for recall 17V061 published in January. The consumer believed this was an unreasonable amount of time has elapsed. The consumer was offered to have the airbag disconnected. Updated 09/11/2017

Takata inflators now that we have been waiting on the passenger air bag recall. Now it appears that the module in the steering wheel also does not work. If the bag in the steering wheel also does not work this is something that needs to be fixed. Its bad enough that the passenger doesn't work but now appears that the steering wheel module also is not working. Can someone please help with this problem. The light indicating the airbag symbol is now on and also the light for the passenger off is on.

Solstice passenger side airbag sensor. This is the most frustrating process ever. Finally GM has admitted the problem that the passenger sensor can go bad. I paid over $800 to have it fixed two years ago. Sold the car after it was fixed and I cannot get reimbursed until they come up with a resolution? I really am not concerned with a resolution any longer I just want to be reimbursed but here I sit with GM playing with my $800. Not a big sum of money to them but a it certainly is to me.

My 2006 Pontiac Solstice has a recall notice (GM safety recall notice 17036). A couple of months ago I took it to the Chevrolet dealer (sunset in sarasota fl) attempting to get this problem repaired. Service said it was repairable and quoted $150. I choose to wait and drive another car. Since then I received the a recall notice. I called the dealer and they said I have to wait until the parts are available pertaining to the recall. This problem is a definite safety issue since the passenger side airbag stays in the "off" position and will not deploy in an accident. Seems strange that the dealer has the parts if I wanted to pay for the repair a couple of months ago and do not have the parts for this recall. I want to start using my car, but do not because of the safety issue. Please help.

The airbag not functioning light is coming on intermittently. When the vehicle is moving or idling. I took it to the dealer today and they reported there were no active codes. After reading online about this I am now concerned that I am driving a car without airbags functioning and either a dishonest dealer or an incompetent tech.

At 80,000 miles and very little time spent with a passenger, the airbag sensor located in the passenger seat failed. This disables the passenger airbag and continually displays both a warning on the vehicle's dic and a light on the dash. I feel that this is unacceptable for the age and use of the car. The sensor was removed and examined to try to determine the cause of the fault. A breakage was found of the internal electrical contacts at the center of the sensor mat. The fault displayed without warning and has remained since.

While driving on smooth road at 55 miles per hour and no one in the passenger seat the airbag light came on along with "service airbag" message on info screen. Had a dealer scan codes and found passenger seat sensor bad. After googling it seems to be a common problem. The car only has 50,000 miles on it.

Takata recall I have a 2006 Pontiac Solstice that is not driven very much. I went on vacation and realized my passenger airbag light would not come on when some one seats in the passenger seat, the light stays off all the time. Now the airbag readiness light is flashing on and will not turn off, which means the airbags need to be serviced. What is wrong with these air bags and why are they not working properly?

Our Solstice now has a passenger seat seat bag sensor light on. We took it into the dealer and were informed this is a common problem. They promptly told us it would be over $1000 to fix. The car has been well maintained and only has 23,000 miles on it. This light remains on at all times. We were told that our air bag will not deploy. It is my understanding that even replacing the sensor may not be a permanent fix as the sensor goes out frequently. When are they going to recognize this problem" will it take a few deaths for the recall"

Filed complaint with GM case # 8-2463003227 on 10/21/16. Relief denied.
