Paint peeling on right side panel. Also left side has bubbles in the same spot so it will be peeling soon. This has to be factory. Hardly no primer under this paint and has light rust. 2008 Pontiac Torrent. Please recall.

OK - yes - my car is 7 years old and has 206K miles on it. But my paint is in excellent condition - meaning - no signs of oxidizing or chipping or other signs of weather/aging. EXCEPT - I was driving down the road and the side panel (above rear passenger door) of paint blew off my car. Upon closer inspection it is apparent that more is going to happen soon if I don't get it fixed quickly. The entire door panel and roof line is showing bubbles as though the paint has just stopped sticking to the metal. I work in construction and spoke with several people in our mechanic shop and they all agree that it is a defective paint job. Of course I'm not under warranty and I called the dealership to only be referred to a collision/body shop. I've sent an email to GM Customer support, but they have not responded. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

Update from Feb 8, 2018: I just received an email (2/8/18) from someone who had the same exact problem. Since my original posting, I've spoken with GM several times and GM denies to this day that there is a problem. I had to take my car in to a paint shop and have the paint repaired at my own expense. This is a real problem that GM simply won't take accountability for. I've since traded in my vehicle, but I'm still a little bitter with GM. I won't be buying any GM vehicles from this point on - which is sad because I drove my vehicle until it had 238K miles and it was a fabulous car.... but customer support and service is not so good. On a side note, when I had my car repainted, the battery was dead when I picked up my vehicle from the heat exposed to the car in order to dry the paint. They jump started my car, and then the power steering was out. It turns out that with this car, there is a fuse that will go bad if you car is improperly jump started - which is exactly what happened. So.. if your power steering goes out, look up the fuse that controls it.

Had this in for the same problem in May 2009. They reapplied the moldings on the side pillars. One year later same issue - can't have it fixed as it is no longer under warranty and I am not going to waste my money on a leased vehicle. Now it is bubbling so, it is really really annoying seeing it.
