One thing the 2008 does share with the 2007 is a recall of a busted gear shifter cable which can make it look like your car is in park, when the transmission is still engaged. You can only imagine what kind of fun that causes.

If the rear window defroster is left on for a while there is an acrid smell and the lights go out on the HVAC controls and after a cooldown of about 15 minutes they come back on. The mechanic has been unable to replicate the problem and has not investigated any further. I hope the car burns.
