My Saturn started to stutter while idling. I checked the oil. it was low and I added oil. A week later it would not start at all. The dealer it was towed to said the timing chain had slipped and damaged the valves. He said I needed a new engine. When I received the notice about the ignition recall I told Saturn customer service about the engine problem. They had the car towed to another dealer who fixed the ignition and gave the same diagnoses about the timing chain. Also $2500.00 estimate and maybe they had a replacement engine.

I have had this car 3 years, I can't drive it and I owe $7000.00 for it. GM's response was that the warranty had expired and they were not responsible. The dealer said because of the age of the car they couldn't help with financing the repair. The dealer I got it from will sell me another car but at a higher payment to offset the amount still due. The credit union will refinance to pay for the repair but will double my monthly payment.

This car is not 10 years old and it doesn't have 100,000.00 miles and it is dead and somehow no one is responsible. I have to continue with full insurance on it even though it isn't going anywhere.

I am currently driving a Ford Focus at 125,000.00 miles that is the same age as the Saturn. So I now have two cars. I only need one but I can't sell the working car until the nonworking car is repaired or the loan forgiven.
