The struts on the lift gate of my Saturn Outlook failed to hold up while my sister and I were loading groceries.I saw the gate coming down as it was going to strike my sister in the head, and I reached from the side to prevent it from closing and got my index finger crushed in the lift gate and nearly severed off. I still to this day have multiple issues with my finger.I just revieved notice that there was a defect on the struts.

Air conditioner went out completely at only 65,000 miles. They recharged the freon, but it went out three weeks later. There was a fog-like discharge from the ac vents at one point. The repair is going to cost $1,500 and they have to take out the whole dash to even do it. I've read similar breakdowns of the ac unit from the acadia and enclave and traverse (similar models). Seems like a known defect with it. Given all the electrical components in cars nowadays, who knows what else this may relate to or affect.

Water is entering the cabin when it rains, saturating the ceiling to the point of dripping. Also, the carpeting, and floor mats are soaked. I also noticed water in the motor blower area. May be leaking from several areas. This was the first time, since I purchased the vehicle that it has been left out in the rain over night. I've washed the vehicle, driven in rain, and never noticed anything wrong. The time of exposure must have something to do with how much water gets in (obviously).

I was driving my children to school when my power steering just stopped and I had to try and drive without it. I was told a month before it was the steering and pinion rack, got that fixed and there was two codes that popped up. I was told that one cancelled out the other which didn't make sense. Now the transmission needs work and they say that was the problem to begin with. I have spent so much money trying to fix this problem only to find out that it was the transmission along. I am very disappointed in GMC cause when I went to the dealer they suggested that I change part until they find the problem. I am pissed cause I still can't enjoy my truck anymore. My extended warranty is over and they dealer wants over 2000 grand to fix the transmission if that's what it really the problem. Looking online many people have had this issue and still no recall on the transmissions for Saturn Outlooks. Shame on you GMC.

In carwash and during rain, water runs in through both driver and passenger side airbag ports in the front, through the dvd player, through the passenger side visor, through the top part of the windshield. Following first incident the radio began to short out, indicating the water had effected the electrical system, the dvd player no longer works, and following the first incident the "check airbag system" light came on and has remained on. The dealer cannot tell me if the airbags will work properly. Repairs by the dealer have not resolved the problem. Is this vehicle safe to drive if water is effecting the electrical system and the airbags" I can hear water sloshing around but the water cannot be seen. There is a damp, musty smell in the vehicle leading me to believe that water is pooling somewhere......is it in the airbag system"

I am writing to tell you about a very dangerous situation that I experienced with my Saturn Outlook (VIN #[xxx]). my first accident happened in April 2008. I was parking my car in my garage...at a complete stop....when the accelerator just took off at full speed and slammed into my garage wall. At the time, we fixed the car and a diagnostic was conducted which did not show any problems. I was assured by Saturn employees and progressive employees that my car was safe and that it was probably a freak accident. I was reluctant, but I took the car back. On February 17, 2010 the exact same accident happened again! same spot in the garage - almost the same damage as the first accident. This time I was furious. The damages we had to pay for includes: Sheetrock for the garage $200 garagetek wall $150 garagetek cabinet $220 3 fishing poles and reels $480 workbench $100 generator - brand new - $645.88 2008 insurance deductible - $1,000 2010 insurance deductible - $1,000 the above estimate totals $3945.88 and doesn't even cover everything that was damaged...let alone the increase in my insurance. I wrote a letter to Saturn, but have not heard back yet. Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

The contact owns a 2008 Saturn Outlook. There is an odor inside the vehicle that makes the driver and passengers ill. The contact is concerned that the odor may derive from a toxic source. The dealer cannot smell the odor; therefore, it still remains. The contact found paper air fresheners inside the vehicle and wondered if the dealer was aware of the odor prior to selling the vehicle. The failure mileage was 680 and current mileage was 5,100.
