I took my car to the dealer to fix the extended warranty for excessive oil consumption. They replaced the parts that needed to be replaced. I drove the car newly oil change and the car made a squeak sound and stalled while i was driving in the freeway. I was with my family. Luckily no accident happen to us. Towed it to an auto shop and the mechanic told me the timing chain broke and needs new engine that will cost over $3k. I called the bank for vol repo.

Update from May 28, 2019: This will hit my credit and will owe the bank the deficiency balance after they sold the car as is. The car manufacturer should take all the cars back who has the same issue as mine to avoid accidents or possible fatality.

Beware of issues with Toyota engine 2AZ-FE. I only had 78,000 miles on my 2010 Scion XB When oil light would turn on half way through scheduled maintenance. Took vehicle to a Toyota dealer and was told that repairs would exceed $2,000 to disassemble the engine and replace the pistons. Disappointing based on Toyotas reputation for engines. Was also told this was a common problem multiple Toyota models containing the 2AZ-FE engine.
