Driving on interstate and noticed engine making faint high pitched ticking noise while passing semis. Vehicle came out of cruise control and began decelerating. Pulled off road and engine died. Would not restart. Leaking coolant. Towed to Subaru dealership.

Dealership stated that they could not test vehicle because battery died and not able to visually identify the issue. Requested $500 to tear down engine. After teardown, they provided the following: "Engine Rebuild/Replace: shortblock, seal kit, OIL CONTROL VALVES (2) intake cam sprockets, turbo, turbo inlet hose, throttle body hose, oil pan, oil pick up exhaust heat shields on pass manifold (2) timing belt idlers 3 big 1 small 1 tensioner, up pipe, down pipe, cylinder head assembly both heads, spark plug replacement.".

Vehicle was just in the shop 1 month previously for cylinder misfire and spark plug replacement. Also replaced the turbo inlet hose. Vehicle running fine and passed diagnostics at that time. Not sure exactly how it went from passing testing at one place and then failing on the road.
