4 wheel drive 2007 Suzuki Swift. Engine warning light came on, engine coughed and stalled. Manual says immediately shut down engine. Small problem: in the Austrian countryside, subzero temps, snow, late at night I WILL NOT freeze to death. So I took chance and struggled slowly home. Mechanics next day said lucky you got home, as engine could have been destroyed. Both crankshaft sensors had FAILED. Only 27,000kms, but just out of 3 year guarantee. Paid up 300€ for two tiny sensors. Suzuki Austria answered my inquiry as to WHY? Junior staff said, guarantee out, pay up. 3 mails to senior staff ignored. As a retired airline training Captain reliability and safety come first. That can only come from analysis of faults. Suzuki and Suzuki Austria failed on all counts. Instead of buying an extra year or two guarantee, buy a car with a 5 year guarantee, and NOT any Suzuki!!
