July 2021, when turning right on to ramp leading to interstate (max speed 25-35 mph), animal ran across road resulting in a jerk turn to avoid hitting. Right front tire hit curb causing a flat. No other damage to vehicle besides flat tire, not even a scratch. ALL curtain airbags deployed; however, steering wheel nor passenger dash airbag deployed. Vehicle was previously serviced in 2019 for airbag error light. Considered a "sensor" malfunction, no safety concerns or recalls. In order to correct the airbag error light, a part was to be ordered. Never heard back from dealership in regards to addressing the airbag error "sensor" issue.

MyVW Atlas 2018 hit the curve at a slow speed and immediately all side airbags were deployed. We were surprised this happen. Took it over to the dealer and they told us they have seen this problem before but since this was airbag issues we needed to take to their body-shop.

Contact AAA as this is going to be expensive. This seems to be as a manufacture issues since the sensor deployed at a low speed and low impact. Was looking on the internet for similar issues and was disturbed that this seems to be happening on VW Atlas.

Manufacturer needs to be responsible for this defective Airbag sensors.
