The warning light/bell will sporadically indicate the driver's seatbelt is unfastened while its is still fastened. This happens while driving the vehicle at varying speeds. Dealership could not duplicate the issue nor could they isolate the problem causing it.
The contact owns a 2009 Volkswagen Cc. The contact stated that the air bag warning lamp was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the wiring harness for the passenger's side front buckle assembly was defective. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not offer any assistance since the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 09V097000 (seat belts). The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 50,000.
