So my car was shaking roughly at idle and I didn't feel comfortable driving it anywhere. I got it towed to a local mechanic and asked them to replace the throttle body because from research that was the problem. I was told that the intake manifold had a crack and needed to be replaced. I went to my local VW dealership to purchase the part since they were the only ones who had it in stock. Mind you, the new part was a completely new design! So that means VW knew that they created a faulty part and redesigned it. But they never notified my of this problem!

After it was replaced and repaired, I called the VW headquarters to let them know about this problem with their car and a representative told me that this part was covered in the extended warranty and I could have gotten it fixed for free at a VW mechanic! WOW! I was so irritated because no one at the dealership told me this when I went to the VW dealership in Sterling Heights, MI to purchase this part! I didn't even have to pay for the part but they withheld information and took my money!

They knew my car was within the extended warranty and said nothing! I was so disgusted by this level of negligence and refuse to EVER support VW ever again! I did end up getting reimbursed after 2 months for just the cost of the part since it was purchased at a VW dealership but wasn't reimbursed for the labor since I didn't get it repaired there. If I knew, and if VW was honest in communicating with me, I would have not had to pay for the repair. Very frustrating and beware of buying VW cars!
