This is only one of the many issues of this car. After 3 weeks of having this car (in '04) the check engine light has been on whenever its wanted. Went to CarMax with the issue since thats where I had bought it- no fix, just turned it off. Ever since then, I've gone to 3 different mechanics and there seems to be no fix; they turn it off and it inevitably comes back on a day later. This is not to even mention the fact that my car stalls out if I'm stopped too long...another issue no one seems to know how to fix. The Cabrio is so messed that even my regular mechanic (who specializes in european cars) has told me to get rid of it because its costing me too much money. Wow. NEVER would get a VW ever again.

Cabrio GTI 2000

Intermittent Engine light on.

Despite several resets will rear its ugly head just as you think its fixed,

Heard its typical problem and can cost a lot to find the cause.

Living with it!!

Engine appears to run ok? But the light is on for a reason.

Will reset itself as well!!
