The dealer told me it burnt out because the motor for the convertible top got water in it. It cost $1800 to fix. He said it got soaked because the hoses or tubes in the to were clogged and the rain, instead of draining out went into the trunk and burned out motor for convertible top operation. Why isn't the motor in a waterproof case? And I had no idea the tubes were blocked, so check out your tubes to see if they are clogged.

The VW dealership says that the leaks are a frequent problem with the VW EOS and that this causes the hydraulic pump to fail. Unless you live in a very dry country, do not purchase this car. My car has 20,000 km on the clock and I am unable to trade it in to a VW dealer or sell it because I have responsibility to the buyer for the leaks. VW HQ don't care. If you have a similar problem, I would love to know as I believe that there are many other people like me in the same posiition. VW need to rectify this major problem with such an expensive car.

A four year old cat letting in water. Garage Motorline in Tunbridge Wells Kent England had the car for 8 weeks, back with me for 2 but fault returned now in again foir "investigation". They replaced the pump but it's still faulty.

No information, constantly fobbed off-have had enough. Nice car to drive but problem appears insoluble.
