Engine is misfiring heavily while idling including on startup and occasionally while stopped at lights and in traffic. Because this issue is inconsistent, any diagnosis has taken 12 months and 3 different mechanics to troubleshoot. Over the 12 months, the spark plugs (2x), ignition coils, and purge valve have all been replaced and cylinders cleaned (scraped, not walnut blasted).

The VW dealership initially pinned this after their diagnostics as a failing Low Pressure Fuel Pump (LPFP) which they replaced for $1,117. This did not solve the problem so the mechanic reviewed again and now feels confident this is related to clogged or stuck fuel injectors possibly also combined with cylinders needing to be cleaned.
