Part/parts broke in the fuel tank filler neck that prevents fuel from being pump in. Funnel maybe used but gasoline may overflow and spill.

Fuel filler neck obstructed with nozzle flap retainer. Replacement assembly order had to be returned to manufacturer due to defect (per information provided by dealer service dept. Rep.)
