It was explained to me that this is an "active safety" issue and had there been a spark in the road my car would have exploded, as it was leaking gas onto the freeway. A semi truck had rubber that was shredding from the tire and several of us were dodging it in the road. A large piece flew up under my car and tire a hole in my tank. After 110.00 tow bill, losing over an hours worth of pay from work, and a bill that can range from a 500.00 deductible to 1350.00+ to get my car fixed I am very upset and feel VW should do something.
