right rear door lock intermittenly will not lock or unlock
My son has a 2009 VW Jetta TDI that has the same problem with the same door. This is a safety issue since the car door cannot be opened from the outside sometimes and at times cannot be locked.
My car currently cannot be locked and since there is not manual locking system it can be unsafe for my wife to remain in the car in a parking lot while I enter a business. In my son's case he cannot get his 2 year old out of the car seat in the rear of the car because the door will not unlock. This is obviously a defect which should be corrected by the manufacturer. Statistically not likely that two cars (400 miles apart) of the same model and trim in the same family have the same problem unless it is a manufacturers defect.
Car has been great otherwise.
