We've had our '07 Volvo C70 for five years. In that time we've broken or bent four OEM 17" Mirzam wheels. One was from a pothole my daughter didn't see (the car sits very low so it's difficult to see potholes until it's too late). The other incidents were just from regular road irregularities. Patches, concrete aprons leading into parking lots, etc.

A local wheel shop repaired a bend and crack in one but the other three had to be replaced. Volvo gets about $1,200 per wheel. I asked the tech at the repair shop if higher air pressure would help but no, the problem is that the car is VERY heavy and the wheels are soft. The offset and backspace of the wheels leaves about 5" behind the spokes unsupported and the inner bead is the most susceptible to bending.

I'd suggest finding a good quality alloy aftermarket... or looks be damned, steel wheels.
