I had already had minor problems with the clutch pedal. It had a squeaking problem that had to have a part replaced to fix, then a spring came off while I was driving. When the clutch went out after only 36,000 miles, I thought surely Volvo would agree to cover it under the warranty. They only said it is a part that wears out, and wanted $4,000 to fix it. My regular mechanic ordered the part from Volvo Parts, and they even said it should have never given out, even under the worst driving conditions, and thought it should have been covered under warranty.
