This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
1.) tire #1 was punctured by a piece of gravel at about 25,000 miles 2.) tire #2 mechanic refused to rotate tires because belt was separating from tire. Tires were bought new August 2014. Tires have less than 34000 miles
Manufacturer claims road hazard not tire defect. However, the tire dealer says that these wheels and tires will continue to fail because they are not appropriate for NJ roads. We have a Mercury Sable which we have driven on the same roads for the equivalent average mioleage without tire failure. At these mileages three tire failures in a month is more than we think is normal for a car being driven on normal city streets and highways. We will continue to talk to the dealer, however at this point they will not take any responsibility. (dot number: Xtcuco41 2)
