Smelled gas in the car. At first I suspected the gas cap but it never smelled. Smell got worse and eventually had to open windows. This is a recall item for my make, model and year, BUT, if your car was not licensed or registered in a 'warm weather' area you did not get the recall notice and are not shown as covered by this recall. Our car had been in NY in 2010 (time of recall) so we were never notified. We moved the vehicle that year to VA. Volvo tried to deny coverage under the recall but a local dealer advocated for us and they covered the repair 100%.
This is a dangerous defect and you should get it fixed immediately to avoid fire and dangerous fumes.
