Volvo Recalls Model Year 2013 S80 and XC70 Vehicles
Computer software error could cause service light to come on for no reason.

— Volvo is recalling certain model year 2013 S80 and XC70 vehicles due to a software error within the central electronic module that will cause a service light to come on after 15 minutes of driving over 25 mph.

The error will prevent the tire pressure monitoring system from warning the driver that a tire needs air.

Volvo will notify owners and dealers will reprogram the system at no charge, but no recall schedule has been announced as of yet.

Owners may contact Volvo at 800-458-1552.

This is the second time in less than two months that Volvo has recalled their model year 2013 Volvo S80.

It was only in July that Volvo recalled the S80 for possible software errors that could cause transmission problems.

Additionally, it was announced in July that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration fined Volvo $1.5 million in civil penalties in response to the agency’s assertion the automaker failed to report safety defects in a timely manner.
