CarComplaints.com Notes: What’s that smell – it’s a tad sweet with a tinge of chemical toxicity? If you own a 2011 Cruze it’s probably a coolant leak. It’s a widespread and notorious problem for the car and is the subject of a class-action lawsuit filed in the state of New York. And that’s not the only problem 2011 owners face…

Many say the 2011 model year suffers from a throttle lag that is probably due to a fauly electronic throttle control. The problem is signifigant enough that some owners say they are too scared to drive their cars. Those that do get behind the wheel often say their transmission isn’t shifting properly and problems start occuring as early as 15,000 miles.

All of this leads us to say you’re probably better off without this car’s headaches (they’re probably chemically-induced anyway).

Smoke was coming out from under the hood due to overheating from using the heat. I paid over $600 but it is not fixed. This is just the last issue I have had, it is in the shop more often than not. I have thousands of dollars into fixing this car. Every problem complained about online about the 2011 Cruze, my car has. It has been a nightmare.

Overheating of engine, engine coolant sensor , smell giving me bad migraines, scaring me to death not wanting to drive to work or anywhere thinking the car is going to stop. I just had to replace the fob key. A mess, this car a real mess. Brake sensor messed up too. I need a lawsuit so I can replace this car with another car so I can know I'm safe. Please help.

Car overheated after driving half hour. AC too hot for engine light came on. I stopped, heater turned off and engine cooled. I called Chevrolet in Milwaukee and they stated there were no other complaints. Will update later.
