When opening and closing the top, often times the sides of the top fold underneath the rear window. This causes a crease which makes it more likely to occur again. When folded under the top often leaks in the rain. When manually pulled out into it's rightful place, the portion of the top pulled out becomes ruffled and unsightly. Damages were caused to the rear window defroster. On one side, the wire connected to the electronic defroster was broken off. Also, the top has torn loose from the bottom window over halfway across the window. The top has already been replaced once under warranty for the same problem, and the same problem has now recurred.

Consumer replaced rear defrost on Chrysler Sebring on numerous occasions. The rear defroster does not work. The rear vision glass needed to be replaced. Chrysler offered the consumer a 50/50 split. Also the drivers side window rattled, red fluid was found in the consumer's driveway due to transmission pan and cooler line leakage, the convertible was leaking on the drivers side window area due to weather strip and there was a slow leak in the R/R tire due to a hole.

December of 2002 - rear window defogger quit. Wire connector came loose from rear window. Could not be repaired. Window had to be replaced to fix problem. May of 2004 - air bag indicator came on and chime sounded. Sensor or some sort replaced at an expense of over $300 June of 2005 - repeat or above problem. Appointment to bring car in for servicing on June 28th. June of 2005 - repeat of rear window defogger. Item has not worked for months. I have run a report on mycarstats.com and have found both of these problems with other owners of this model. Appears we have a problem here. I should not have had to pay for the air bag problem the first time and I certainly shouldn't have to pay next week when I bring it in for servicing.

Very snowy conditions in killington, Vermont. Revving the engine to try and get traction. Sparks and fumes emitted from the wiring that connects the wire to the rear defroster. Eventually, the wire came detached, making the rear defroster both inoperable and a fire/health hazard. A useless rear defroster means a useless rear window. No direct backwards visibility other than the outside rearview mirrors.
