2002 Sebring Convertible - 63000 miles and the engine blows - you guessed it - SLUDGE and poor oiling. Car broke down on the highway on my wife. Oil was changed regularly - more often than recommended - but still - the engine blew. This is the second 2.7 liter Chrysler engine that has blown on me - the other being on a 1999 Intrepid that belongs to my daughter. What I want to know is - if Chrysler developed a new water pump on the hush-hush that (hopefully) doesn't allow coolant to leak into the oiling system anymore - how come I have a car crap out and have to pay for it at less than 1/2 design life? I've been a (delusional) Chrysler owner since my first 1965 Satellite - a car that wouldn't blow it's engine when floating lifters well over redline on half oil capacity? Now - to have this "technologically advanced" engine that won't last longer than a 90 year old without Viagra is beyond my tolerance. Step up Chrysler!
