I bought this car at a dealership in a nearby town after seeing it on their website. I have a Toyota with over 300,000 miles on it and I thought I might need a "backup" vehicle if it died. Since the dealership did not want the Toyota as a trade-in (ha ha) I negotiated a fairly good deal and got the Ford for no money down and no trade-in. The dealership assured me that it had been serviced and was "good to go". I bought this Ford in July and didn't think to try the heater at that time.

When Winter rolled around and I needed heat for early mornings (our climate here in NC is actually fairly mild in Winter) I realized that I (the driver) had heat but the passenger had cold air. I put up with this for some time until I needed some brake work and asked them to check the heater problem. The service manager informed me that I needed a new heater core to the tune of about $900. Eek!

I am retired and on a fixed income so I have asked some male friends (most are Ford owners) what their opinion of this is. As you can imagine I got 20 different answers, everything from each side has it's own heater core to stopped up air line, etc. I DO NOT want to do business with this particular dealership any longer; I would like an opinion from an experienced Ford owner who has encountered this problem before or knows what I'm talking about. Sorry for the long message, just at my wit's end about this.
