Got codes for no steering assist fault and no advance trac, meaning no power steering and no AWD. There are recalls for this but was told, my car didn't apply because not made at the plants they were made. Took my car to a Ford dealership, had them look at it, after disconnecting battery for 10 minutes, both came back, but said rack and pinion was bad" my car just past the 36,000 miles in garage miles were 38804. This car only drives on paved roads, not all new paved but good roads. 'how can this be part be bad with just 2000 miles over coverage? why is it bad at this mileage? not happy to have to pay $2600 to replace at such low millage" something was bad with this part from the start!!! if I have to replace this part and not covered by Ford plus my cost to I paid to have them lok at it. I will never buy another Ford, built tough my ass!!! plants

While driving the vehicle on the interstate, three different times it suddenly, without warning, lost all power and shutdown the car. No power, lights, power steering, etc. I had to coast to a stop on a major interstate. Once I was stopped, turned off the car and it restarted like nothing happened. These events were very dangerous. Once was when it was raining so when the car lost power, the wipers stopped at 70 mph so I had to navigate to the shoulder without being able to see. A second time was at night driving 70 mph, when it shutdown, I lost headlights and I couldn't see. It was terrifying as I was in a remote area of I-49 without any lighting to navigate to the shoulder. Again, once stopped and put in park, it restarted immediately. Please note, I'm not the owner of this car. I was driving it as a loaner from a used car dealership. This problem was so serious I am reporting directly to the NHTSA as this car had no recalls to address. Someone is going to get injuries or die. I was terrified.

When coming to a stop at an intersection the proximity sensors go off inadvertently frequently when there is no object there. We have taken it to Ford service several times only to be told everything checks out okay. This happens on a daily basis and is very annoying and makes us not trust the sensors since they sense objects that are not visible. This usually happens when slowing down for a stop sign at an intersection or stop light. It can go off on either side even through no other vehicles or objects are there. My wife has recorded this on her phone to show the service department but so far they have not been able to duplicate it. When we showed them the video they said they had another person record a video of the same issue on another Ford Edge under slowing or coming to a stop at an intersection. This report wants a specific date reported when this happened however as mentioned this happens on a regular basis and has done since it was purchased new from Ford country in henderson, nv. We have taken it into two different dealers trying to have this problem taken care of both gaudin Ford in las vegas, nv and Ford country where we purchased the vehicle in henderson,

Lost control on my stearing driving to my work this morning. I was driving on straight road when I started expecting lost of stearing, car was almast start driving to the curb. I put on breaks and car wouldn't stop. Tryed to maneuver car to stop from going on curb and turning to oppositside but there was outcoming traffic, but was very unfortunate to control that is was still driving even I was pushing on the breaks and car went all the way to side of the opposite direction and flue to the field and drew there for 100-200 feet untill it is stopped. I was lucky survive, because there was electric pole and some uneven lamdscape that I culd been injured or even dead. Dangerous! can't explain fear I experienced this morning. Scheduled time with Ford at sawmill in dublin, Ohio to check what is wrong with this car!

Please allow me to qualify this documentation by stating that we have not yet brought this auto back to the dealer at this time. We purchased the car less than a year ago. The car has fewer than 3,000 miles. In the past week we are seeing the adaptive steering warning light come on after starting and as soon as putting the car into gear. This has occurred 4 times in the past week. We have not noticed any difference in steering, the wheel turning off center, none of the issues reported by numerous other people on the web. But I certainly expect this to happen at some point. My concern is how many reports are on the web from owners who experience this fault. And the many variations of how different Ford dealers choose to manage the problem. Everything from replacing the steering wheel to the good old "well, we can't replicate the problem" brush off. Once again, I have not yet visited my Ford dealer but expect to very quickly. I have no idea what they will do, if they will do anything, or how long it will take. What I do know is the following....... an issue of this nature constitutes, in my mind, a questionable level of safety concern be it mild or major. The owner of the vehicle must pay for additional expenses by missing work, maybe renting a car, to have this problem possibly resolved or possibly not. And in the interim drive with a concern for safety. Because not everyone can just stop what they are doing when that light comes on and drive to a Ford service center which, for the most part, is only open M-F and usually requires appointments in advance. I am keeping my fingers crossed that our dealer, which we bought two new 2016 cars from last year, will be pro-active in addressing this problem once we can bring the car in. But I believe the NHTSA must become involved and demand that fmc develops a fix and offers a recall.

I bought my Edge brand new in late July of 2016 and had not experienced any problems up until March of 2017 (one month ago). When the "adaptive steering fault. Service required!" light first started coming on, it was generally just seconds after starting my car, but always while I was turning the wheel. For the next couple of weeks, it was coming on an average of 2 to 3 times per week and it would turn off within five or so minutes of my drive. My service light has come on everyday now for the past five days without even having to turn my wheel. Once my car is started - the message pops up. And rather than turning off a few minutes or miles into my drive, it remains on for the entirety of the drive. I called today in hopes of getting it serviced but unfortunately cannot be fit in for an entire week. I left a voicemail with the service manager to ensure that my car was safe to drive until then but have not yet received a call back. Fingers crossed!

My Ford Edge had a sudden deceleration and a dangerous loss of power in the middle of a busy city intersection causing oncoming traffic to come to a halt. The SUV is now causing a traffic jam with my family looking at on coming traffic. Thank goodness we did not have an accident. Right after that episode, the transmission jerked so hard we bounced forward and backwards in our seats. Again, the car had a loss of power. Since that time, my Ford Edge experienced two other episodes. Ford marketed and sold this vehicle as new with a defective electronic throttle body control. How do I know that? when I took the car to bob tomes Ford dealership, I was told the throttle body control had been replaced at 1000 miles. They sold the car as a new vehicle off the lot without revealing it had been driven as a demo vehicle. We bought the car with 1800 miles thinking it had been on the lot for long period of time and driven from another dealership. Ford owes the consumer an advertising campaign about he dangers of sudden unintended deceleration and educate consumers about their pre-purchase legal rights once facts are known. Thousands of owners are in danger because Ford refuses to act morally and choosing profit before responsibility.
