They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer and the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 9,435 and the current mileage was 13,541.

The contact owns a 2004 Ford F-150. The contact was driving 50 mph when he crashed into another vehicle. The air bags did not deploy and the seat belts failed to restrain the contact. The contact was thrown into the steering wheel and sustained a fractured disc in his back. The vehicle was destroyed. The vehicle was towed but caught on fire while in tow. The manufacturer was contacted in regards to the failure but advised that they were unable to assist. A police report was available. The failure mileage was 135,000.

The contact owns a 2004 Ford F-150. The vehicle was taken to the dealer in response to the recall under NHTSA campaign id number: 11V107000 (frontal:driver side inflator module). Prior to the repairs the contact stated the air bag warning light was illuminated on the instrument panel. The recall repairs were performed on the vehicle. After the repairs the contact stated the air bag warning light continued to illuminate. The dealer was contacted and stated it could be caused by a failure in the seat belt. The dealer stated that the vehicle be taken in for diagnostic testing and would not be covered under the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 72,100.
