F-150 King Range 350

  • Automatic transmission
  • 75,012 miles

I have never missed any services work on my vehicle. The truck was not heavily used and I am the original owner. A transmission should last 150K miles plus. I have talked to several repair shops. A couple mentioned the gears in the transmission are the same as the Crown Victoria. I think ford needs to recall these transmissions. I have owned a five ford vehicles and never really wanted to try another manufacturer until now....

F-150 Lariat 5.4L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 226,000 miles

I have a 2005 Ford F150 Lariat 4x4 with a little over 226000 miles. Truck has never had any major issues. I have replaced a coil pack here or there and the battery and alternator once. I believe that getting that kind of mileage out of a major component is great. Kudos to Ford for making a long lasting truck. Engine still runs great and have no further issues. Have no problems purchasing a new transmission for the truck when it has been so good to me.

F-150 XLT 5.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 70,000 miles

Loyal, at one time, ford fan. I have had two f350's tons of power in the 97 but bad flywheels, the 2000 was nice and no real complaint. Now I have a 05 f150 and the same has happened to me that seems to be happening to everyone else. Girlfriend takes the truck to work she driving back from lunch, we're on the phone and she says "sh*t the truck doesn't want to go" I ask if she was all the way in gear. Not the problem.... now truck won't hardly move..... Not sure if I will buy another ford again, especially if ford's not helping correct the problem.

F-150 King Ranch V8 5.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 103,000 miles

My truck is clean and well taken care of Fluids changed reularly, this is a work truck but hardly ever off road, 4x4 but hardly ever used, yesterday while driving in the city the truck seemed to slip off the line when excellerating. shortly after the truck slowed down and the rpm went up after that I heard a beep and the display read Transmission malfunction. I took it to the dealer imidiately and the service guy said oh boy that's not good. Talk about great bed side manner, I was a wreck at that point thinking the worst. He said he would have to diagnose it and that it was 100.00 just diagnose. At that point I could only imagine how bad I was about to get screwed, so I slowly pulled out of the service lane and parked the truck. I called a local transmission shop and they took it in free of charge. the guy ran it on the machine and determined that 2 gear codes came up and that I would need to have the transmission rebuilt to a tune of 2700.00.

I can't beleive this is happening , the truck is still like new however does have 103,000 miles but I baby it most of the time. My expensive ass extended warranty expired 3000 miles ago and Ford says there is nothing they can do. I am pissed. If anyone else has had something similar or knows what the solution is please email me back.

Thanks
